Kerbside collections:

  • A weekly food waste collection - collected in a wheeled bin
  • A fortnightly collection of newspapers and magazines, cans, card, Yellow Pages, plastic packaging including bottles, margarine tubs, plastic tubs, yoghurt pots, ice-cream containers, food trays, sandwich packs, fruit and vegetable punnets, bottle tops, plastic cups and plastic carrier bags (please reuse before discarding), foil including ready meal containers, take away food containers, party platters, meals on wheels containers, kitchen foil collected in a wheeled bin.

Recycling bank

Recycling Banks and Mobile Skip Collections: 3 weekend mobile sites collect green waste, wood and metal at Great Dunmow, Thaxted and Stansted. Dunmow is weekly and Stansted and Thaxted are alternate weekly. 15 parishes in the district have mobile green waste recycling skips from March to November. 163 banks collecting glass, cans, paper, textiles, plastic, books and cardboard.
