Kerbside collections:

Basildon District Council operates a number of different collections and not all households receive all of the collections below however you will receive a combination of collections. To see exactly what collection you have go to www.basildon.gov.uk to do a postcode search.

  • Fortnightly collection of cardboard, food and drink cans, aerosol cans, plastic bottles, yogurt pots, margarine tubs, ice cream tubs, bubble wrap, fruit and veg punnets, plastic flower pots, plastic meat and food trays and newspapers and magazines - collected in pink sacks.
  • Fortnightly collection of textiles - collected in any sort of strong bag with one of the textile stickers attached.
  • Fortnightly collection of newspapers, magazines, catalogues, brochures and junk mail - collected in any type of carrier bag.
  • Fortnightly collection of glass bottles and jars - collected in a recycling box.
  • Fortnightly collection of garden waste - collected in biodegradable sacks.

Recycling bank

There are 60 recycling centres mostly collecting paper, glass bottles and jars, textiles and food and drinks cans. Use Recycle Now Bank Locator to find your nearest site.

Barleylands Recycling Depot collecting as above as well as books, garden waste, engine oil, inkjets and laser cartridges, scrap metal and plastic carrier bags.
